DREAMBURGER; OR, TO LIVE DREAMING
Segismundo was born an orphan in an experimental, executives only location of a fast-food chain called Dreamburger and is cursed to live and die in this restaurant, shackled to the cash register. One day a young woman named Rosaura happens upon this location as she Razor scooters across the country, fueled by rage and seeking vengeance upon the Dreamburger executive who killed her family. Together, Rosaura and Segismundo must find a way to make their own freedom under the pressure of the American Dream in this adaptation of the Spanish Golden Age Classic "Life is a Dream."
Dreamburger; Or, to Live Dreaming was developed as part of Theatre Write Now Cohort 3 and received a staged reading at Balance Arts Center on June 6th, 2026.
Dreamburger; Or, to Live Dreaming was selected as one of four plays to be presented in the inaugural Common Stage Festival on May 15th, 2026, a works in progress theatre festival, with Common Sister Production Company.
